WHY?
The conference is a place where we can all come together—food enthusiasts and entrepreneurs, policy makers, nonprofit organizers and volunteers, city government officials, and media - to discuss food, community, and entrepreneurship and to celebrate the ways that food creates opportunity.
DETAILS:
Themes that we will be discussing this year include promoting diversity and building community spaces through the shared experience of food; creating jobs and developing our economy in a sustainable, sound manner; supporting women and immigrant-run and owned businesses, and leveraging technology to do all of the above.
We won’t let you go hungry—there will be food! At brunch on Sunday, and lunch and happy hour on Monday, we will give you ample opportunity to sample the delicious food that our participants whip up.

La Cocina
La Cocina is a ground-breaking business incubator designed to reduce the obstacles that often prevent low-income food entrepreneurs from creating successful and sustainable small businesses. By providing affordable, shared, commercial kitchen space, an array of industry-specific technical assistance and services, and access to market opportunities and access to capita, La Cocina works with entrepreneurs as they launch, grow, and formalize successful food businesses. We focus primarily on women from culturally diverse communities and immigrant communities. Our vision is that our program participants will become economically self-sufficient and contribute to a vibrant and diverse economy doing what they love to do.
---
